“The sauce is amazing.”

This summer, Taco Bell has been on a roll, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Last month, the chain dropped new fajitas-inspired entrées and began testing two never-before-seen chili cheese menu items in select locations. If that wasn’t enough to make you ring the bell, the restaurant also brought back the Enchirito, a sauce-topped burrito that fans have been waiting to see return for years.

Now, Taco Bell has expanded its offerings once again with three new menu items that pepper Jack cheese lovers won’t want to miss.

Taco Bell Introduces New Pepper Jack Steak Burritos

The Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito and Fresca Pepper Jack Steak Burrito are now available at Taco Bell. With this launch, the chain is also introducing Pepper Jack Sauce, a new option that can be added to any of your favorite menu items. The sauce features creamy Monterey Jack cheese and a hint of jalapeño.

The Melty Pepper Jack Steak Burrito is made with tender steak, seasoned rice, sour cream, and Taco Bell’s signature three-cheese blend, which includes mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack.

Alternatively, fans can opt for the Fresca Pepper Jack Steak Burrito instead. Rather than rice, the Fresca version is filled with lettuce, tomatoes, and crunchy tortilla strips. Pepper Jack Sauce and spicy ranch tie it all together and add bold flavor to every bite.

On social media, the new menu items are already getting praise from fans. “The sauce is amazing,” said one person in a Reddit thread discussing the burritos. “I had one today. Surprisingly filling and only $3 in my area,” wrote another. Another Redditor said the order was $4 in their area—but still “hard to beat.”

“I will say, the Pepper Jack Sauce tastes closer to the Baja Sauce from back in the day than the spicy ranch does, so if that was what they were going for I’d say they succeeded,” a third added. “I also ordered a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, subbed Pepper Jack Sauce for spicy ranch, and [it] tasted like the early 2000s.”

Taco Bell’s pepper Jack lineup is only available for a limited time. So, whether you’ve been missing Baja Sauce on your favorite taco or simply want a filling meal that won’t break the bank, you should head to the drive-thru before these new cheesy options disappear.
