A 19-year-old man was arrested on a preliminary murder charge following the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Tyler Bray in Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 19-year-old is in custody after a man with gunshot wounds was dropped off at an east side hospital early Saturday morning and died shortly after arrival, according to Indianapolis police.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to Community East Hospital after a person walked in with gunshot injuries around 5:20 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived at Community East, they found a man with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The victim, later identified as 20-year-old Tyler Bray, died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

IMPD later said they believed the shooting happened in the 5200 block of Gifford Avenue on the southeast side, right near the intersection of Emerson and English avenues.

Prior to Bray arriving at the hospital, IMPD says they were called to a possible person shot incident on South Spencer Street near Gifford Avenue.

They didn’t find anyone shot, but located an injured 19-year-old Sabashton Domangue. Domangue, who was suffering “severe road rash,” was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Following the investigation, Domangue was taken into custody Monday on a preliminary charge of murder for his role in Bray’s death.

IMPD also said while investigating the Gifford Avenue scene, detectives found a “large quantity of firearms and narcotics” during a search of a nearby home.

Domangue was being held in the Marion County jail as of Tuesday. A hearing date has not been set.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to contact Det. Larry Craciunoiu at the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or by email at [email protected].
