Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is, in our humble opinion, one of the best Star Wars of all time. I'd also suggest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the perfect sequel, in that it improves on the original in every single way. With a third and final entry officially confirmed, EA and Respawn Entertainment have the chance to deliver the first truly perfect Star Wars trilogy. Yes, I am suggesting Return of the Jedi is actually not that good. Sorry.
Anyway, while we wait for further news on the next Star Wars Jedi game, we'll be reuniting with Cal Kestis a little sooner than expected. In December 2026, a third volume of the ongoing Star Wars Jedi manga will release. For those who might have missed this series, the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order manga serves as an action-packed retelling of the 2019 game of the same name.
Volume 2 of the manga, which released in May this year, follows the segment of the game in which Cal explored Zeffo and Dathomir and takes readers up to the moment his lightsaber is destroyed and his spirit crushed. It also showcases his first encounter and duel with the Second Sister in stunning style. Now, we have official confirmation that the story will continue in December.
“The multi-volume manga adaptation of the best-selling Star Wars video game continues," reads a synopsis from online retailer Blackwells. "The saga of Cal Kestis continues in volume three of the manga adaptation of the hit video game! Haunted by tragic memories, and with his lightsaber destroyed, Cal’s quest is about to test him in ways he never could’ve imagined. As he journeys to new planets, Cal delves into his painful past and his relationship with his deceased master. With striking visuals and an action-packed story, readers will be immersed in Cal’s quest like never before.”
Recent rumors suggestedStar Wars Jedi 3 could be announced this year and see a 2026 release, though with Summer Game Fest having been and gone with no major announcement, I wouldn't hold out hope. September 2026 is now also absolutely packed with video games, and not even Star Wars would dare tangle with GTA 6 in November. I'd suggest perhaps an announcement at The Game Awards in December followed by a March 2027 release, but that's pure speculation on my part.
Hopefully the third and (I assume) final volume of the manga will scratch your Star Wars Jedi itch until such time as the third game lands.
