A rare Ferrari F40 was spotted outside a grocery store in Nevada and people were quick to comment on how the iconic car is being used.
A car spotter on Reddit photographed the F40, which is clearly being used daily without too many qualms about its value.
There are also a couple of unorthodox modifications that Ferrari probably didn’t love.
And one Reddit user went further and actually identified the owner.
People in the comment section went wild over the real thing
Ferrari F40s are spotted all the time and posted on Reddit, which brings us to the key issue: most aren’t F40s.
They aren’t even Ferraris; they’re kit cars. But this one is.
This one is a real F40, one of the rarest cars in the world.
People noticed, and some of the comments are amazing.
“So it’s not always the Fiero,” one Redditor wrote – a cheeky reference to the fact that so many supercar-inspired kit cars are built using the Pontiac Fiero as a platform.
Another Redditor imagined the conversation between the Ferrari owner and their partner.
“Honey, I’m going to bike up the mountain. I’ll be back later.”
“Are you going to take the Subaru?”
“No, I’ll take the $2 Million, 1 of 1300, Big 6 Ferrari halo car.”
Others pointed to the fact that the keys have been left in the ignition for the pictures.
Somebody went further, and actually found the owner.
Who owns the F40?
The owner of this F40 is one Amir Rosenbaum, who apparently bought the car in the 1990s and has been using it since.
The owner has modified the car a few times, with a bespoke gear knob adorned with a spider-web, a strange horse-shaped logo in place of the Prancing Horse at the back, an unorthodox collection of stickers, and a license plate that reads: “DONT TRY”.
He also uses the car regularly, including on the Bonneville Salt Flats – not exactly a terrain where you’d expect to find a rare supercar.
But as so many people in the comment section happily pointed out, it’s nice to see somebody actually using their rare car instead of parking it in an air-conditioned unit somewhere.
