Shedeur Sanders mobbed by fans and media during offseason appearance as second-year Browns QB

Shedeur Sanders is one of the most promising quarterbacks in the NFL. He is also expected to be one of the emerging quarterbacks next season. Drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2025, he had a good rookie season and managed to play many games.

Despite some early success, he is currently a doubt to be a starter for next season. While he is just in his second year as a quarterback, he is already very popular.

Shedeur Sanders gets star treatment

Sanders played in 8 games last season, and threw for 1,400 yards and 7 touchdowns with 10 interceptions while also rushing for 169 yards and a touchdown. He is expected to fight for the starting role with veteran Deshaun Watson. Sanders was drafted by the franchise in the 2025 NFL Draft. Before his NFL career, he had a successful college career, playing as the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes football program.

Despite only entering his second season, he is already becoming very popular. He has already become very popular, with much headlines about him in the news. He also became the player with the most single-season NFLPA group licensing record, earning $17.7 million in his rookie season. It broke the previous record held by legendary quarterback Tom Brady.

A recent video shows the young quarterback attend a free youth football camp. It was for around 500 kids from a local high school in Brooklyn, Ohio. He was almost surrounded by the present media who wanted to click pictures of him. The young kids also started screaming as soon as he entered the field, and completed engulfed him as he embraced them. The camp staff had to use loudspeakers to urge the excited kids to calm down.

Despite his rising popularity in the league, he is still not guaranteed to start as a quarterback in his second season. He will have heavy competition from Watson, and their contest is already being anticipated. He recently talked about his competition with the veteran.

Shedeur Sanders talks on battle with Deshaun Watson

Sanders spoke about his upcoming competition with Watson for the starting role. He said, “I would say it’s the same thing that we’ve been saying from Day 1. We’re both trying to be the best version of ourselves we could be. So we’re not going to let anything get in between of that. So it’s a level of respect that we all in the quarterback room have for each other.”

He added, “And we’re not really emotional when it comes to things that we can’t control. We mainly focus on and thrive on getting better in the work every day. So if I like something he’s doing, I ask. If he likes something I do, then [he] asks. It’s conversation, and that’s what’s most effective.”

Shedeur Sanders will have to prepare as the 2026 NFL season is approaching soon.
