Shakira headlined the first-ever FIFA Men's World Cup halftime show in a showstopping custom Roberto Cavalli design that was covered in Swarovski Crystals.
The Colombian-born pop superstar performed her 2026 World Cup anthem Dai Dai featuring Burna Boy during the final match between defending champions Argentina and Spain at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. Other performers during the inaugural halftime show included Justin Bieber, Madonna, and BTS, but it was Shakira's couture costume that stole the show.
This comes after Madonna's World Cup performance was slammed for using sports legends as 'props' during the final match.

The one-of-a-kind look was designed by Roberto Cavalli's creative director, Fausto Puglisi, and featured over 200,000 Swarovski crystals that took over 120 hours of hand embroidery to complete.
The bodysuit and fringe skirt's 'Ray of Sunset' color scheme of pink, orange, and yellow was inspired by the 'golden hour' hues of the sky at sunset.
The couture costume was designed to gleam under the stadium lights as Shakira performed her iconic hip-shaking choreography alongside the Ghetto Kids dance group, who wore matching yellow outfits during the showstopping performance.
The sunset spin on Cavalli's signature Ray of Gold motif took over 2 weeks to complete, and the color scheme was actually a suggestion made by the 49-year-old singer.
The designer told Vogue, "She was in the beautiful mood of the orange sunset. This was her suggestion. Orange sunset and pink-bright pink." He also revealed that the outfit was inspired by one of his favorite cities, Mexico City, explaining, "It was the neighborhood La Condesa. There is a beautiful mix of colors of the original buildings."
Shakira explained to the fashion publication that she wanted "something that reflected the energy of the performance but also honored the significance of the occasion."
She went on to say, "This is such a global event, so I wanted to wear something that felt timeless but also modern, with movement and personality."
The outfit also referenced her 2010 World Cup performance of 'Waka Waka,' during which she also donned a Roberto Cavalli ensemble.
"It [was] kind of natural and organic to end the World Cup in this way," Puglisi said, as Shakira added, "It's a full circle moment-the colors are similar too. We are paying tribute to the past and looking toward the future."
Shakira and Burna Boy hit the pitch during the inaugural World Cup halftime show, which ran for 11-minutes and featured a list of performers curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker also performed at the World Cup's opening ceremony in Mexico City, where she wore a custom Off-White ensemble featuring a bright yellow cutout bodysuit beneath a white and lavender patchwork skirt, paired with platform sneakers and dark sunglasses.
