Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) recently disclosed buying Berkshire Hathaway BRKBRK B shares. The Benzinga Government Trades page shows his past purchases of the conglomerate.

Moran disclosed buying $15,000 to $50,000 in BRK.B shares on June 23, according to data from Quiver Quantitative.

The senator also bought Alphabet GOOG stock, totaling $1,000 to $15,000 on the same day.

These latest purchases are similar to the senator’s trading history this year, with those two stocks being the only other stocks he has bought and sold in 2026.

Moran also disclosed buying Berkshire Hathaway stock with the following trades this year:

  • May 27: Bought $1,000 to $15,000
  • May 27: Bought $1,000 to $15,000
  • May 27: Bought $1,000 to $15,000
  • May 27: Bought $1,000 to $15,000

The senator also made multiple Berkshire Hathaway transactions in 2025 and 2024. His trading history shows mostly buying and selling large-cap stocks, as reported by Quiver Quantitative.

Other Congress Members Selling

Berkshire Hathaway had many years of outperforming the S&P 500 under previous CEO Warren Buffett and sometimes traded with what was known as a "Buffett premium," with investors willing to pay more for the assets of the conglomerate based on past and future returns.

With Buffett no longer at the helm, the premium has disappeared, and the stock now trades significantly lower than the S&P 500 returns.

Retail investors and others have likely been selling their Berkshire Hathaway shares if they no longer believe in the future under new CEO Greg Abel or see future underperformance.

While Moran is buying up shares of the conglomerate, some of his peers are among the sellers:

  • Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) sold $1,000 to $15,000 each in shares in two separate transactions on May 4
  • Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) sold $100,000 to $250,000 in shares on March 31 and $100,000 to $250,000 in shares on Jan. 27
  • Rep. Gil Cisneros (D-Calif.) sold $1,000 to $15,000 in shares on March 25
  • Rep. Mark Alford (R-Texas) sold $1,000 to $15,000 in shares on March 16
  • Rep. Christian Menefee (D-Texas) sold shares on Feb. 10 with transactions totaling $1,000 to $15,00, $15,000 to $50,000 and $15,000 to $50,000

Sen. Alan Armstrong (R-Okla.) is the other member of Congress who has bought and not sold Berkshire Hathaway stock in 2026 with a purchase of $50,000 to $100,000 in shares on March 27

Berkshire Hathaway stock is currently down 1.6% in 2026, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY, which tracks the S&P 500, up 11.5%.

Time will tell which members of Congress come out on the winning side of betting for or against the post-Warren Buffett Berkshire Hathaway.
