Samsung Launches Its First Credit Card: Here Are All the Perks

Samsung's credit card has no annual fees and offers a 5% discount on purchases at Samsung.

Seven years after Apple launched a credit card, Samsung has introduced one of its own, with the biggest benefits reserved for customers who make purchases directly from the company.

The Samsung Galaxy Card is issued by the Barclays US Consumer Bank on the Visa network, and it has no annual fees. You can submit your application for one on Samsung’s website or at retail stores starting tomorrow, July 22.

The card’s benefits and rewards include 5% cash back on purchases made directly at Samsung’s online and physical stores in the US. It also offers 3% cash rewards on purchases made via Samsung Wallet and 2% cash rewards on Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify.

All other spends earn 1% in cash rewards, while the Samsung VIP Advantage loyalty program is offered at a 20% discount, with 5% cash rewards upon renewal. If you spend $2,000 in the first 90 days, you’ll also get a bonus of $200 in cash rewards.

Like the Apple Card, the Galaxy Card will be available digitally and physically. The physical card is a black metal card with a Samsung logo. Both variants can be managed directly in Samsung Wallet alongside your other digital IDs, keys, cards, and passes.

“For years, users have relied on Samsung products to enhance their daily life — from staying connected with friends, to relaxation, to productivity. Today, Samsung Galaxy Card offers users a new way to be rewarded every time you pay,” said Woncheol Chai, Samsung’s digital wallet head. “Users are busy, they need a credit card that simplifies their life and offers them real value — Samsung Galaxy Card does both.”

The Galaxy Card arrives just hours before Samsung unveils its latest generation of foldable phones. The Unpacked event kicks off at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 22, and you can catch the livestream on Samsung's YouTube channel or Newsroom.
