If you like your dessert with a side of mystery, Sam’s Club has a treat for you. The big box store has unveiled a new line of cake pops where at the center of every bite-sized treat lies a big surprise.
The new Member’s Mark Mystery Cake Pops are a uniform green color, but biting through the hard frosting coating and the dusting of sour sugar sprinkles will reveal one of three flavors. While two of them are fairly standard dessert flavors—pineapple and blue raspberry—the last one is anything but average dessert fare.
What’s that unexpected cake pop flavor? Dill pickle. Yes, the dill pickle that you put on your burger, in your coleslaw, and add to your potato and pasta salads is one of the flavor options in Sam’s Club’s new mystery cake pops.
According to the company’s website, the mystery cake pops, which come 14 to a pack, are “a fun treasure hunt for flavor enthusiasts” and are “ideal for any occasion”. Tell that to the person eating dill pickle- flavored cake!
If you’re looking for a way to keep kids or coworkers entertained during the dog days of summer, these Mystery Cake Pops could add a little suspense and drama to an otherwise dull afternoon. While we admire those willing to risk their taste buds on pickle-flavored pops, we’re sticking to adding pickled to our deviled eggs.
