Ryan Clark has a message for fans after firing from ESPN

After he was fired in a humiliating fashion by ESPN on Monday, Ryan Clark resurfaced online and sent a message to those wondering how he was doing.

Clark seems to be at peace with the decision despite how ESPN handled it.

"Sending prayers and love to all those laid off today by ESPN. So many of you have poured your life into that company, & I know how you’re feeling right now.

My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!"

Clark also cleared up the rumor about whether he was asked to leave during "NFL Live" on Monday.

"I wasn’t forced? “I ask, should I be done now?”

The answer was “yes”.

ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro explains why Clark and other ESPN personalities were laid off in a press release.

"While most of the job impacts are tied to the acquisition, we will also notify colleagues in other parts of the company today that their positions have been impacted. We are committed to treating employees with compassion and respect and to providing support as they navigate this transition."

ESPN not only laid off Clark but also Cam Newton and long-term Sportscenter host and play-by-play man Karl Ravech. Both Clark and Newton have popular podcasts. No word yet on what Ravech's plans are.

Clark just had a major interview on his "Pivot" podcast with UFC CEO Dana White.
