The late Robin Williams’ son Zak is celebrating his life.
On Tuesday, July 21 — what would have been Robin’s 75th birthday — Zak, 43, posted an image on Instagram of the late star in costume as Mork from Ork, his beloved extraterrestrial character from breakout sitcom Mork & Mindy.
“Happy 75th Dad!” Zak wrote in his caption. “Today I’m remembering your weirdness and your extraordinary capacity to love. I remember those wrinkles in the corners of your eyes, the kind you get from a lifetime of smiling. I remember your unending need to see this world free of human and animal suffering.”
The actor-producer then entreated his followers to do as Robin did in life: “For those out there who’d like to celebrate with me, go do something kind for someone. Make someone laugh. Put a little more good into the world.”
Zak concluded the heartfelt caption, “Love you forever.” The post prompted hundreds of comments celebrating and mourning the late Good Will Hunting Oscar winner.

Robin died by suicide in 2014 at age 63 after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia, a type of brain disease that affected his thinking, memory and movement control. Robin shared his eldest child, Zak, with his first wife, Valerie Velardi, and daughter Zelda, 36, and son Cody Alan, 34, with his second wife Marsha Garces.
In addition to honoring the late Mrs. Doubtfire star’s birthday, his children have also posted remembrances each year on Aug. 11, the day he died. “These days are always hard and I love remembering you for being so very, very YOU,” Zak wrote in a 2023 Instagram post.
Zak, who has welcomed son McLaurin “Mickey” Clement and daughter Zola June with his wife Olivia June, told PEOPLE in 2020 about working in his father’s memory with Inseparable, an organization that aims to provide mental health care.
His own mental health, he said at the time, includes “prioritizing self-care before I can show up for others... One thing I found very healing for me through my experience has been service and commitment to service work specifically around mental health and mental health support organizations.”
