Real Madrid dominated the 2026 World Cup, setting a record for the most goals scored by a single club team's players in one tournament while having a whopping four players represented in the semifinals of the competition. And so many of their best players dominated the headlines and lists of the best players of the tournament.
Now, FIFA have released their official Best XI of the 2026 World Cup, via Fabrizio Romano, and Real Madrid are unsurprisingly very well represented in the team. No other club has more players in the best XI than Madrid, as three players secured a spot in left back Marc Cucurella who won the World Cup with Spain, striker Kylian Mbappe (listed as a right winger in their front three), and center midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Although Vinicius Junior had a strong case for being one of the tournament's best players, too, despite how terrible the rest of the Brazil national team were, he was unable to crack a spot in the tough front three of Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Mbappe.
Real Madrid owned the World Cup
But three players in the best XI is incredible, and it is hard to argue with any of these picks. Cucurella was by far the best left back of the tournament, and he proved it in the semifinals and the Final by shutting down two superstar attackers who made this XI in France's Michael Olise and Argentina's legendary Messi.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham were incredibly obvious inclusions, as the duo were so good that you could argue either of them convincingly for being the best overall player of the tournament. Since Bellingham had so many clutch goals in big games and did a lot of defending and progressing of the ball as a dribbler, he was likely the best player in terms of overall, all around impact, even as Mbappe won the Golden Boot and added quite a few assists to his 10 goals.
And regardless of who, in particular, was the best, Real Madrid as a club were the biggest winners of the 2026 World Cup. Their superstars all balled out on the big stage, and as Marc Cucurella can attest, it wasn't just the attacking players who boosted their stock, too.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that a few potential future Real Madrid players made the World Cup best XI, too. Michael Olise, Pedro Porro, Rodri, and Erling Haaland are all players Madrid want to sign.
