Prince William and Kate Middleton have "made it clear" to King Charles they want to balance out their royal and family lives, just as Prince George prepares for a significant transition.
George, who marks his 13th birthday today, July 22, may come from a privileged background and be the future King of the UK, but his parents have pledged to provide him with a sense of normality as much as they can.
Robert Jobson, author of Catherine: The Princess of Wales, explained, "William and Catherine have made it clear to the King that they are committed to balancing royal duties with family life and it will be the same this year." This comes as Kate Middleton faces her biggest challenge yet.

The author also told Hello! Magazine that the Waleses' approach centers on how they can allow George to mature into a well-rounded individual, which will in turn help enable him to become a good king. Jobson explained, "Their aim is for George - as well as Charlotte and Louis - to grow into well-adjusted adults, ready for the role when the time comes."
This year, as George enters adolescence, the royal will need to navigate another significant transformation. He will begin at Eton College this coming academic year, the institution which educated both his father and his uncle, Prince Harry, reports the Express.
Established in 1440 by Henry VI, Eton - whose motto "Floreat Etona" (Let Eton Flourish) adorns its coat of arms - is among Britain's oldest and most elite public schools and has educated 20 prime ministers and successive generations of British and international royalty.
The young prince is currently enrolled at Lambrook School, the private preparatory institution in Berkshire where he resides as a boarder alongside his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Beyond the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex, other distinguished Old Etonians include David Cameron and Boris Johnson - who attended during the same period - as well as actors Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie.
The boarding institution, with annual tuition exceeding £63,000 ($84,224), is celebrated for its academic standards, with numerous students gaining admission to Oxford and Cambridge annually.
However, there are rumors that Prince George could break the mould and attend Marlborough College instead, the school his mother was enrolled at.
An insider revealed, "While Eton would be the obvious choice because it is on their doorstep and where William went, they are leaning towards other schools. I'm hearing Marlborough is the front-runner."
"I genuinely don't think they've one hundred percent decided, but there is talk among the Marlborough set that they've allocated a house for George and that security has been a big issue," they continued.
Security arrangements are considered a top priority for the household. Both Eton and Marlborough feature boarding facilities with extensive grounds and the necessary infrastructure to accommodate Royal protection officers.
