A serving police officer has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash in Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire Police said emergency services were called to Chilwell Lane, Bramcote, on 28 September following reports of a crash involving an electric bike and two cars.
The force said the electric bike rider, Ryley Hutson, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Daniel Cartwright, 31, of Kettering in Northamptonshire, who is a police constable at Bedfordshire Police and was off-duty at the time, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, police said. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 6 August.
Det Insp Jamie Moore said: "This was a tragic incident which has had a devastating impact on Ryley's family.
"They have been updated about this important step in our investigation, and our thoughts remain with them."
