Andrew McCutchen isn't giving up on a return to Major League Baseball.
After a rocky stint earlier this season with the Texas Rangers, he's now one step away from a return to MLB.
The Pittsburgh Pirates legend was signed by the Atlanta Braves and is working his way through the minor leagues.
The Braves first sent McCutchen to their complex team in Rookie-ball, and he played four games there (going 1-for-10 with a double).
They've now moved him up to Triple-A Gwinnett.
McCutchen made his debut with the Stripers on Tuesday night, going 0-for-3.

It'll be interesting to see if McCutchen can get the final call and join the Braves at some point.
They weren't going to read too much into his small sample size numbers at the Rookie-level, but if McCutchen struggles over a larger sample to hit at Triple-A, Atlanta probably won't give him a shot.
He's going to have to find a hot streak and start hitting the ball hard. He's not really a defensive option in a major league outfield anymore, so it's bat or bust for McCutchen.
His days as an NL MVP with the Pirates are long gone.
But can he still play in the majors? That's what he'll try to prove in the days and weeks ahead at Triple-A Gwinnett.
