One good way to avoid being typecast? Dye your hair a shocking new color. Thanks to his performance as JFK Jr. on FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, Paul Anthony Kelly has shot to superstardom, appearing everywhere from the Oscars to the Met Gala, and Paris Fashion Week, while already securing his next few roles in the process. And with one of these parts, Kelly is looking to replicate the magic of Love Story by teaming up with creator Ryan Murphy once again, for season 13 of his smash anthology series, American Horror Story.
On AHS, Kelly will join veterans of the series like Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, and Jessica Lange, but the specifics of his part are being kept under wraps. That being said, we finally have a first look at his new character, and apparently, the role required Kelly to go blonde.
New photos show the Canadian actor with bright, bleached blonde highlights, styled in a wavy coif that swoops down on one side.
He was seen filming scenes with costar Paulson in Washington Square Park yesterday afternoon, where he wore a black leather trench decorated with images of snakes embossed into the notch lapels. The outerwear was layered over a white dress shirt and paired with matching black slacks and croc-skin Chelsea boots to keep the reptilian theme going. He accessorized with a maroon tie and Wayfarer-style sunglasses.
The newest season of American Horror Story, which is currently being called “Penthouse,” is set to premiere on September 24. As we wait, I’ll be taking in Kelly’s new ’do.
