It's not that long ago that the New England Patriots were in the midst of the Tom Brady era, a true dynasty.
These days, the Pats have already found their way to one of the brightest futures in the NFL.
In a new article on Wednesday, ESPN's Aaron Schatz ranked teams in the NFL by their under-25 talent -- players under the age of 25.
And the Patriots? Schatz gave them the No. 1 ranking in the entire NFL.
The big key, of course, is Drake Maye. He led the Patriots to the Super Bowl in his second season, and there's nothing better to have in the NFL than a young, fast-rising quarterback.
"The Patriots' haul of young talent isn't just about Maye, but it certainly starts with him," Schatz writes. "My system identifies Maye as the most valuable young commodity in the NFL after he threw for 4,394 yards and came close to winning the MVP award last season. He will turn 24 right before the season begins."

Schatz lists "blue chips" from the under-25 group, and in addition to Maye, he includes cornerback Christian Gonzalez and offensive tackle Will Campbell.
Gonzalez has a case as the best cornerback in the entire NFL and is working his way toward a massive contract extension.
Campbell was solid as a rookie, despite a rough Super Bowl, and was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Schatz goes on to mention other under-25 players like Jared Wilson and Caleb Lomu on the offensive line, running back TreVeyon Henderson, pass-catchers Kayshon Boutte, Kyle Williams and Eli Raridon, defensive tackle Joshua Farmer and edge rusher Gabe Jacas.
The Pats ranked No. 7 on Schatz's version of this list a year ago.
