Karlos May is already putting in work for Ohio State
Ahead of Gabriel Georges’ decision, Ohio State’s latest commitment is doing some recruiting of his own. 4-star defensive tackle Karlos May, who committed to the Buckeyes on Saturday out of Alabama, took to X to make a pitch to Gabriel Georges. May highlighted what he believes is the best offensive line recruiting class in the 2027 cycle and asked Gabriel Georges what he’s waiting on. The post had already surpassed 65,000 views at the time of this writing.
May plays on the defensive side, but his message carries weight. Ohio State offensive line coach Tyler Bowen has landed six recruits in the 2027 class, headlined by high 4-star offensive lineman Kellen Wymer. The Buckeyes have additionally added Mason Wilt, Jimmy Kallis, Davis Seaman, and Brody McNeil along the offensive line this cycle. Ohio State has made it a point in the 2027 class to invest in the trenches on both sides of the football.
Gabriel Georges’ fit with Ohio State’s offensive line investment
If Gabriel Georges is going to be successful at the college level, running behind a strong offensive line would make it a whole lot easier. Ohio State should have that for the foreseeable future given Bowen’s recruiting haul, and what they have in-house. The depth and talent along the offensive front could be a real selling point for a running back weighing his options.
Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has built a strong relationship with Gabriel Georges over the recruiting process, and the Buckeyes hope that connection is one of the reasons they can win out on Wednesday.
As for May’s effort on social media shortly after his own commitment, Buckeye Nation is going to love seeing that kind of energy from a new addition. Wednesday’s announcement will reveal whether the push was enough to help Ohio State land its top target.
