One Texas offensive lineman could be on the field against Ohio State in September.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Texas offensive lineman Cole Hutson was granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA, per a report from On3 on Wednesday night.

Hutson had filed an age-based eligibility lawsuit a week ago and been requesting a judge to grant a fifth year of college football. He’s seeking to play in the 2026-27 season.

Now, Hutson is available to join the Longhorns immediately, should that be an option for him. He played in 48 games with Texas and has made 23 starts in his career as an interior offensive lineman.

Notably, Hutson went undrafted but earned an invite to Dallas Cowboys rookie minicamp. He’s looking to return to college for another season.

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said the team was monitoring the lawsuit earlier this week.

Should Hutson be allowed to play this season, and if Texas takes him back on the roster, he could be in the lineup for the Longhorns when Ohio State travels to Austin on Sept. 12. Hutson started five games at center and five games at left guard last season.

David Gabriel Georges releases statement

After five-star running back David Gabriel Georges committed to Tennessee on Wednesday night, he took to social media to make a statement about his recruitment.

The 2027 prospect, who was Ohio State’s No. 1 target at the position for years, took the time to both thank his friends, family and coaches, but address negative moments of his decision.

In part, he said: “What should have been one of the most meaningful and joyful moment of my life has, at times, been overshadowed by negative media coverage, false narratives, and unfair assumptions about both my character and my family.” He also said that any form of harassment or misinformation was unnecessary and uncalled for.
