PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A man has been arrested following an Independence Day shooting in Passaic County that left three people hospitalized, police say.

Orlando Bravo, 20, from Passaic, faces several charges, including attempted murder, weeks after the shooting.

On July 4, around 8:30 p.m., Passaic police were called to Essex Street and Third Street on reports of a shooting with several victims.

Police found a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and a 34-year-old man, all from Passaic, with gunshot wounds.

The trio was rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-fatal wounds.

A crime scene was established, and following several weeks of investigations, authorities determined that Bravo was the triggerman, officials say.

On Tuesday, Bravo turned himself in to authorities without incident. The United States Marshals Service and the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force helped Passaic detectives in processing Bravo’s surrender.

Bravo is charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

If convicted, Bravo faces several decades in prison.

The investigation is still underway, and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Passaic Police Department at 973-365-3900.
