NFL legend's pledge brings reward for information in Nolan Wells case to $125,000

Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens pledged an additional $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, bringing the award total to $125,000.

The donation follows a $100,000 commitment from actor and producer Tyler Perry, and civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton during the beloved teen’s funeral in Ocean Springs Monday morning.

In a social media post on Friday, July 17, Owens called on President Donald Trump to intervene in the investigation of Wells’ death.

“If you can make a call to overturn a call for a soccer match then you can make a call for the justice of Nolan Wells,” Owens said in the video.

In a press release on Tuesday, the family’s attorney, Ben Crump, urged witnesses with information about the investigation to come forward.

“We are deeply grateful to Terrell Owens, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Tyler Perry for standing with Nolan Wells’ family in their pursuit of truth and justice,” Crump said. “Their generosity and unwavering support send a powerful message that this tragedy will not be swept under the rug and that we will not stop until the truth is uncovered and justice is served.”
