TOWN OF SCHROEPPEL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The story of a New York couple is going viral on social media after the pair was peed on by a man behind them in the stands of a Morgan Wallen concert.
After the incident, Troy Grevelding’s video of his interaction with police went viral across the country, but he shared the backstory with NewsNation local affiliate WSYR.
He and his wife, Andi, were at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore over the weekend to see the county music star perform.
“Our wedding song was a Morgan Wallen song,” he said.
The couple was joined by his brother’s family, including two nieces.
“The eight-year-old has been to one concert, and she loved it, so she couldn’t wait to go see Morgan,” Grevelding said. “And then, the 11-year-old was dying to go see him. These were Christmas presents.”
Only a few songs in, the view from their $600-a-piece seats didn’t matter. What the man did behind them ruined the night.
“The next thing you know, I felt something, but I didn’t think nothing of it. I thought the gentleman behind me, like, spilled his beer,” Grevelding said.
“My wife goes: ‘Whatever that gentleman is doing back there is all going down my leg…’ I turn my head; at that point, his pants are down. And he’s sitting there. He’s literally just relieving himself all over the back of myself, my wife… all over my niece.”
Soaked and horrified, they watched as police escorted the man outside the stadium — but not arrest him. That’s when Grevelding used his phone to broadcast on social media.
The uncomfortable night wasn’t over. “We had a ride home, an hour and 45 minutes back to the Airbnb,” Grevelding added. “Our clothes smelled like urine. It was definitely something we won’t ever forget.”
The Maryland Transportation Authority, whose officers patrol M&T Bank Stadium, said: “The MDTA Police is aware of this incident and the video that is on social media. There is an active and open criminal investigation into this matter.”
