The Oklahoma City Police Department has released drone video from an incident back in June showing officers tracking down a burglary suspect.
Investigators said the department's Real Time Information Center launched a drone on June 20th to find two suspects accused of burglarizing U.S. Grant High School.
The drone helped officers locate the suspects, including one seen riding a scooter through the area near the SW OKC school.
Video released by police shows the suspect throwing a pair of shoes to the ground as officers closed in.
Police said they later recovered the shoes and discovered a loaded handgun hidden inside.
Both suspects were taken into custody. Officials said one of the suspects, Harvey Hopkins, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Officers say the drone played a key role in locating the two suspects and finding the weapon.
