Now past the halfway point of 2026, Netflix has released a handful of game-changing projects both in the movie and TV mediums. As for movies, the biggest Netflix film of the year, without question, has been War Machine. Alan Ritchson leads the Netflix sci-fi thriller, which has been officially confirmed for a sequel after earning over 140 million views and cracking the all-time top 10. As for TV shows, Netflix has found success with its latest Harlan Coben thriller, I Will Find You, starring Sam Worthington and Britt Lower. The series has been in the top spot for weeks now after its debut on June 18, but new data has come in showing that it lost the #1 ranking to Netflix’s new sweeping Western, Little House on the Prairie.
Netflix dropped all eight episodes of Little House on the Prairie on July 9, around two weeks after the premiere of I Will Find You. Viewership data for the week of July 13 finally came in this afternoon, and it’s been revealed that Little House on the Prairie has officially taken the top spot from I Will Find You after picking up 9.8 million views. Harlan Coben’s kidnapping thriller fell to 8.8 million views during its fourth full week on streaming, but the series is now over 90 million total views and poised to pass 100 million before the end of its run. Any show was going to have a tough job dethroning I Will Find You, but Netflix is starting to look even more clever for picking up Little House on the Prairie for Season 2 all the way back in March, months before its global premiere.
What Is ‘Little House on the Prairie’ About?
Netflix’s official synopsis for Little House on the Prairie reads as follows: “Based on the third book in Laura Ingalls Wilder’s series — Little House on the Prairie — Season 1 follows the Ingalls family as they establish their “new forever” outside the small but quickly developing town of Independence. The foursome, along with their dog Jack, face the often harsh conditions of 1800s prairie life, including fever, wolves, and fire — obstacles that longtime fans will recognize from the original novels.” The sweeping Western based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s novel has been mostly well-liked by critics, enough to earn a solid 79% on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The show stars Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald, Alice Halsey, Skywalker Hughes, Kowen Cadorath, Jocko Sims, and more.
