WAYNE — A third suspect has been charged in connection with the robbery of a local jewelry store, but police said on July 21 that several others remain at large.
Corey Boyd, of Paterson, is the latest person to be apprehended in connection with the June 16 heist at Massola Jewelers, said Detective Capt. Daniel Daly.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested on July 8 after police spotted him during their work on an unrelated case, Daly said. Two alleged accomplices, Terrance Drakeford, 33, and Wyzier Peterson, 28, both of Paterson, were arrested within days of the robbery.

All three men are in the Bergen County jail, with no bail set.
Records show that Boyd was charged with 12 crimes, including first-degree conspiracy and first-degree robbery. He also faces theft- and weapons-related offenses.
The robbers allegedly entered the family-owned jewelry store just after it closed for the day. Police said they used sledgehammers to bust open display cases before swiping expensive merchandise and fleeing in a getaway car.
The brazen stunt occurred when the shop owner was still there, authorities said. The jewelry store is in Valley Ridge Shopping Center, which is across the street from police headquarters and anchored by Whole Foods Market.

Daly said much of the stolen jewelry was found and returned to the shop owner, although police are not yet certain whether every piece was recovered. He said the investigation is ongoing.
Massola Jewelers opened its Wayne store nearly 40 years ago. At the time, the family had a second location on Darling Avenue in Nutley.
The Township Council recognized Massola Jewelers as a pillar among small businesses at a public meeting six weeks before the robbery.
