A modeling scout previously linked to deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been discovered dead at his home in Paris. 69-year-old Daniel Siad was found on Monday in Colombes, a north-west suburb of Paris.
"An investigation to determine the cause of death was opened on Monday evening following the discovery," the Nanterre prosecutor's office told the BBC. They added that an autopsy of Siad will be carried out in due course.
Siad appeared thousands of times in the Epstein files released by the U.S. government earlier this year. He had worked under the "What's Up Management" agency and had previously denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes and the threat he posed to young girls.

One of Epstein's victims with the alias 'Anya' had told the BBC that Siad had introduced her to Epstein and described him as a "professional trafficker"
"It was a complete set-up," she added.
In the Epstein files, it was revealed that Siad had emailed Epstein saying, "In this busyness, I feel like a fisherman sometimes I catch quick, sometimes no fish."
Siad previously insisted that Epstein had "taken advantage of his trust." He hadn't been questioned by investigators over Epstein yet, but he had so far denied the allegations of aiding Epstein in trafficking and abusing women.
The model scout also had several complaints against him in France, including allegations of rape - the first of which was filed in February.
"I have never raped anyone in my life," he told BFMTV in May.
"An important link in the chain has just vanished into thin air, without there even having been a chance to recover the information Daniel Siad might have possessed, given that he was never questioned," a former model who gave a deposition to police in June as part of the investigation into Siad told the BBC.
"Too much time has been lost... and it is yet another way for the leads to go cold. I hope we won't have to wait another seven years to see his home searched, even though I think it is already too late."
Additionally, French authorities in 2020 arrested modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel over allegations he also procured women for Epstein. He was found dead in his cell in 2022.
Epstein himself died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking. His accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted of child sex trafficking and is currently serving a sentence of 20 years in prison
