Meet the full Miami Hurricanes basketball roster entering Jai Lucas' second season

Miami's 2026-27 men's basketball roster is set, giving Jai Lucas a deeper and more flexible group entering his second season in Coral Gables. The Hurricanes are coming off a 26-9 season that ended with a second-round NCAA Tournament loss to Purdue, and their offseason was built around keeping a few key returners while adding scoring, size and future upside through the transfer portal, high school recruiting and the international market.

Acaden Lewis: Villanova transfer

Lewis was a second-team All-Big East selection and unanimous Big East All-Freshman Team pick at Villanova, where he set freshman program records with 176 assists and 63 steals. He put up 12.2 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 45.6% from the field.

Shelton Henderson: returning

Henderson is one of Miami's best returners and gives the Hurricanes a proven ACC wing with NBA upside. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists last year while shooting 56.7% from the field. Henderson also tied the program's freshman single-game scoring record with 30 points against FIU and had 18 points in Miami's NCAA Tournament loss to Purdue.

Dante Allen: returning

Allen is another returning guard who already earned trust late last season. The 6-foot-4 sophomore appeared in 30 games as a freshman and made 18 starts, including the final 16. He averaged 6.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 43.1% from the field. Allen was a top-100 recruit out of Montverde Academy and showed enough as a freshman to project to be a bigger part of the rotation.

Marcus Allen: returning

Allen’s 2025-26 season was cut short after he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in December, but he is back on Miami's roster as a 6-foot-7 forward. He averaged 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in eight appearances last season before stepping away from basketball. Before transferring to Miami, Allen played 26 games as a freshman at Missouri and averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game. Allen is a Miami native who starred at Miami Norland, where he averaged 22.7 points and 13.2 rebounds as a senior and led the program to a Florida state title.

Caleb Gaskins: incoming freshman

Gaskins is the crown jewel of Miami's freshman class. The 6-foot-8 forward from Christopher Columbus is the second-highest-rated recruit in program history in the 247Sports Composite. Gaskins was also a McDonald's All-American and helped Columbus win its fifth straight state championship in 2026. As a junior, he averaged 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds for a national championship team, then averaged 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit with Nightrydas Elite.

Somto Cyril: Georgia transfer

Cyril is a 6-foot-11, 260-pound center who started 32 games at Georgia last season and averaged 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 21.2 minutes per game. He was voted to the SEC All-Defensive Team and led the nation with 83 dunks.

DeSean Goode: Robert Morris transfer

Goode was the 2026 Horizon League Player of the Year and a first-team all-league selection at Robert Morris. Before that, Goode averaged 7.8 points and 6.0 rebounds as a freshman at IU Indy.

Nick Dorn: Indiana transfer

Dorn is a 6-foot-7 senior who averaged 8.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game last season. Dorn hit 38% from 3-point range and made 60 triples, good for 2.0 per game. He scored in double figures 11 times and had 16 games with multiple made 3-pointers.

Brent Bland: Saint Peter's transfer

Bland is a 6-foot-3 graduate transfer who averaged a team-high 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2 steals last year. He was a first-team All-MAAC selection, ranked 31st nationally in steals per game and led Saint Peter's in points, steals, 3-pointers, defensive rebounds and minutes. Bland also shot 36.9% from 3-point range on 214 attempts.

Quin Berger: Bucknell transfer

Berger is a 6-foot-2 senior who played 30 games with eight starts for Bucknell last season after missing 2024-25 with an ACL tear. He averaged 3.1 points and 1.4 rebounds. He had his best offensive game with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range at Akron. Berger began his career at Saint Joseph's before moving to Bucknell.

Egor Ryzhov: BC Enisey addition

Ryzhov is a 6-foot-11 center who spent last season with BC Enisey in the VTB United League and averaged 11.7 points on 55.5% shooting with 5.9 rebounds over 41 games. He previously spent time with Zenit St. Petersburg and was named the 2024 VTB Youth Finals MVP while playing for Zenit-2.

Christopher Birden Jr.: incoming freshman

Birden is a 6-foot-10, 200-pound PF out of South Kent School in Connecticut. He committed to Miami on April 21 and averaged about 17 points and eight rebounds during his senior year.

L.J. Cason: Michigan transfer

Cason will sit out the 2026-27 season after tearing his ACL in February. He averaged 8.4 points, 2.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 28 games last season for a Michigan team that won the 2026 national championship. He also appeared in 30 games as a freshman in 2024-25.
