The couple’s tequila brand Pantalones Organic Tequila is partnering with Tipsy Scoop for two new flavors that pack all the punch of a margarita into a dessert that’s perfect for summer. On Wednesday, July 22, the limited-edition Pantalones Peaches & Cream Margarita Ice Cream, which features peach ice cream infused with Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila with a hint of lime, will be available at all Tipsy Scoop Barlours through August. Guests can order a scoop for $8.50 or grab a whole pint for $16.
Ice cream and tequila fans alike can also order pints from Goldbelly as part of a four-pint pack for $109.95. Later this summer, a second flavor will roll out, but this one is exclusive to the Dallas Barlour: the Pantalones Dallas Margarita Sorbet, which is inspired by the Texas Margarita. The dairy-free, vegan treat is a citrus sorbet infused with Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila, orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice, making for a treat that’s both sweet and tangy.
“Most margaritas are served on the rocks. This summer, we’re deciding to serve ours by the scoop,” Persia Tatar, CMO of Pantalones Organic Tequila, said in a press release. “National Tequila Day is one of our favorite holidays, so partnering with Tipsy Scoop to turn a summer margarita into ice cream felt like a no brainer. It’s fun, unexpected, and proof that tequila belongs in more places than just your glass.”
The McConaugheys are proud of their award-winning Pantalones Organic Tequila, and they’ve made the brand a true family affair. In May, Matthew’s mom Kay ‘MaMac’ McConaughey, 94, starred in a Mother’s Day campaign for the tequila where she was dubbed the “Most Interesting Mom in the World.”
At the time, she shared her signature cocktail, the “MaMac’s Manhattan.” Made with Pantalones Organic Extra Añejo Tequila, Averna Amaro and orange bitters, MaMac’s version of a Manhattan is topped off with an orange twist.
“Being a mother has always been the greatest joy of my life,” MaMac told PEOPLE at the time. “I look at my boys now and think, ‘Well, I must have done something right.’ ”
“We had rules in our house, and everybody knew I was serious about them, but we also laughed a whole lot. And let me tell you, if you survive a house full of boys, you deserve a cocktail named after you,” she added.
