Matt Damon reveals his 'The Odyssey' stunt double was a woman: 'She had the biggest biceps'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Matt Damon has dropped an unexpected behind-the-scenes revelation about 'The Odyssey.' While reflecting on filming Christopher Nolan's epic, the Oscar winner shared that his stunt double for one of the movie's most physically demanding scenes was actually a woman, Devyn Dalton.

What surprised him the most wasn't just the reveal, but her physique. Damon said he was impressed by her biceps and incredible strength.

During an interview with Josh Horowitz on 'Happy Sad and Confused,' the 55-year-old actor shared, "When we did the forced perspective stuff of the Laestrygonians - I don’t know if there’s been a thing about how we did it- there were these stunt men who were all seven feet,” he said, referring to the giant warriors in The Odyssey.

“And then they got stuntmen who were under five feet, and so my double was a woman, a female stunt performer, who had the greatest arms I’ve ever seen,” he added.

According to Damon, he couldn't stop staring at her arms because they were unlike anything he had ever seen before. He joked that she had "the biggest biceps" he had ever seen and admitted they were even larger than his own.

The actor explained that he kept wondering how someone could develop such extraordinary muscles before learning more about her athletic background. Damon recalled meeting Dalton for the first time at a catering tent, where he hugged her.

"I went up, and I hugged her,” he said.

“And I thanked her for all the work she’d put in... And there are those shots in the movie where you see these giants looming over me... so it was almost 100% my arms in the movie, but gotta give it up where it’s due."

In the comments section of Horowitz’s video, Dalton wrote that it was an “honour to double” for Damon.

Devyn Dalton also reflected on her experience filming 'The Odyssey' in a heartfelt Instagram post, calling her time on Nolan's set "an adventure." Sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the production, she expressed gratitude for being part of the film's Laestrygonian battle sequence.

“Scottish Highlands. The Odyssey. What an adventure. No spoilers just yet, but I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of the Laestrygonian battle,” she wrote. 

“We worked hard, shared plenty of laughs, and created memories I’ll never forget,” Dalton continued.
