A man got into an argument with a rideshare driver over the route and stabbed him in the chest before heading to a Florida IHOP for breakfast, according to police.

Jovaughn Matthie, 42, is facing charges of second-degree attempted murder and resisting arrest without violence, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The incident occurred Monday morning in the area of East Marks Street and Kenilworth Terrace. Cops say Matthie tried to take an Uber.

According to an arrest report obtained by local Fox affiliate WOFL, the driver was dropping off a passenger in the area when Matthie walked up to the car and said "Uber?"

The driver said yes and Matthie entered the front seat and requested to be taken to a location about five minutes away. Matthie wanted to take a different route than the GPS suggested. When the driver refused, Matthie allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the driver in the chest.

Cops tracked him to a nearby IHOP. Body camera released by Orlando police showed he was enjoying a cup of coffee as cops were trying to take him into custody.

Matthie allegedly ignored commands and continued to sip on his brew, even as officers pointed Tasers at him.

"Get on the ground, lay on your stomach, do it now," a cop ordered, to no avail.

But a police dog put him in the mood to comply, the video showed.

Cops put him in handcuffs and found a knife wrapped in a rag in his pocket. He was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.

At his first appearance, Matthie asked if he could represent himself, according to a courtroom report from WOFL. The judge urged him to accept a public defender since he did not have any legal training.

Matthie was ordered to remain in jail without bond. He did not seem to understand the concept.

"If it's set at zero, am I OK to leave?" he asked.

"No," the judge reportedly responded. "Even a million dollars could not bond you out."

The defendant is slated to appear in court on Friday.

An Uber spokesperson said in a statement to WOFL that the victim was driving Matthie as a courtesy.

"While this incident did not occur on an Uber trip, our thoughts are with the driver as he recovers," the statement said.

Police did not provide an update on the driver's condition.
