President Trump is in Marietta, Ga., on Wednesday afternoon for remarks on the economy, on the newly launched Trump Accounts and more. The visit occurs as he’s increasingly at odds with Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.), who is up for reelection. Trump nicknamed Ossoff “Peewee Herman.”

Trump started Wednesday at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to attend the dignified transfer of service members killed over the weekend in Jordan and Iraq. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and Gen. Dan Caine, chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, joined him.

Ahead of the service, Trump again demanded Iran end its targeting of vessels, threatening its civilian infrastructure.

The House on Wednesday afternoon narrowly passed a nearly $1.15 trillion annual defense policy bill, 216-212, with six Democrats voting for the bill and seven Republicans voting against it. House lawmakers then passed the GOP’s $95 billion budget framework, 216-214.

Such an agreement has been under discussion for years, but the idea had always been to force Saudi Arabia’s hand in return.
