Arizona voters went to the polls Tuesday to select a Republican nominee in the race for governor, with the winner set to challenge Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs this fall.
Rep. Andy Biggs won the GOP gubernatorial nomination, capitalizing on the endorsement of President Donald Trump and a big advantage in fundraising. Biggs has represented Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, southeast of Phoenix, since 2017 and is a former president of the Arizona state Senate. He had three opponents for the nomination: 1st District Rep. David Schweikert, Ken Miceli and Scott Neely.
Biggs will run this fall against Hobbs, who is seeking a second four-year term.
