Argentina topped Spain, 1-0, in the FIFA Men's World Cup Final on Sunday. Argentina, which won the 2022 FIFA Men's World Cup, failed to score or even generate any kind of real threat against Spain on Sunday.

Messi was understandably emotional following the game. He was seen crying on the pitch. It could have been his final World Cup game, as he's 39 years old. It's difficult to see him playing again in 2030, in his mid-40s, though considering his all-time greatness, you never want to count him out.

Following the match, Messi's longtime wife, his childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo, shared a motivational message on Instagram.

Messi's wife shares reaction to World Cup loss

Messi's wife, Antonela, made it clear that she still considers him to be the best following the World Cup Final loss.

"You will always be the best, @leomessi. Not just because of your talent, but because you have never stopped being yourself. Because no matter what happens, you never give up; you always fight to the very end and give it your all until the final second. That strength, that mindset, and the way you pick yourself up time and time again are what make you unique. 🤍 ," she wrote.

"Thank you for showing us every day that true success is built through hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance—without ever losing sight of who you really are. You are the best example for our children and an inspiration to millions of people. I admire you more than words can express, and I feel immensely proud to walk through life by your side. I love you so much. 🤍"

If this was Messi's final World Cup game, he'll certainly be missed on the international stage.
