FDA continues to work with Taylor Farms to investigate outbreak
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has upped the number of cases of cyclosporiasis to more than 4,000 in 41 states. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says the outbreak is "under control," rebuking criticism after the Food and Drug Administration revealed a test of Taylor Farms lettuce was a false positive.
What should you do? Take precautions like checking sources of meal kits and be mindful that kitchen tools like cutting boards can be sites of cross-contamination. And if you're overthinking the lettuce you just ate, remember people typically develop symptoms in about two days to two weeks.
