SEOUL, July 22 (Yonhap) -- Hong Eun-chae of K-pop girl group Le Sserafim will throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Japanese professional baseball game next month, her agency Source Music said Wednesday.

Hong will take the mound before the Chiba Lotte Marines' game against the Saitama Seibu Lions on Aug. 5 at Zozo Marine Stadium in Chiba Prefecture.

"I am very honored to throw my first ceremonial pitch in Japan," Hong said through the agency. "I hope I can bring bright energy and joy to everyone who visits the stadium despite the hot weather."

Hong has previously said in various interviews and online content that she has been a baseball fan since childhood. In March last year, she threw the ceremonial first pitch at a home game of the Doosan Bears in South Korea's KBO League.

Le Sserafim is currently on its second world tour, "PUREFLOW."
