King Charles' priceless reaction when told he looks just like his late mother Queen Elizabeth II

The royal family often draws comparisons between certain lookalike relatives. While the King has been compared to his eldest son Prince William, and even the late King Edward VII, on occasion, he had the most wholesome reaction to being told he looked just like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. 

During a walkabout at the RHS Sandringham Flower Show on Wednesday 22 July, the royal stopped to shake hands and exchange words with royal fans gathered on the countryside grounds. In a very touching moment caught on camera, one royal fan pointed out the striking resemblance between Charles and the late Queen, telling the monarch, "You look so much like your mum."

The royal muffled a one-word response, appearing to take the comment well as he stopped to chat briefly. Watch the video below:

While the royal has similar looks and mannerisms to his late mother, beneath the video posted on HELLO!'s Instagram, one royal fan suggested that Charles also bears an uncanny resemblance to a distant relative on his late father, Prince Phillip's side of the family. "The king looks like his paternal great grandmother princess Victoria of Hesse," they suggested. 

Royal comparison

Along with sharing similar features, Charles has inherited the late Queen's animated facial expressions, which were on full display at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May. The royal watched on expressively, at times with his head in his hands, looking incredibly invested. 

The horse show was a favourite of Queen Elizabeth II's and was one she attended on many occasions throughout the years, including just four months before her death in September 2022. The late monarch was positively beaming as she watched her horse Balmoral Leia win the Horse & Hound Mountain & Moorland Supreme In Hand Championship on the second day of the horse show in May 2022.

Charles' day out

King Charles looked dapper in a cream suit as he attended the Sandringham Flower Show on Wednesday morning alongside his wife Camilla. The royal couple arrived in a horse-drawn carriage to the show, which was held at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. 

This year marks the first Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) show held at Sandringham, featuring award-winning gardens and expert talks. Charles paired his suit for the outing with a purple patterned tie and carried his wooden walking stick while making his way around the estate. 

Camilla looked lovely by his side in a green paisley midi dress with gathered sleeves and an A-line skirt.
