The king's decision for back-up follows the path set by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who refused to take Harry’s phone calls without another person present in the room.

King Charles made sure to have a “witness” at his July 10 reunion with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Page Six is told.

When Charles met with Harry, Markle and their kids at his country estate, Highgrove House, Queen Camilla was right by his side.

“The queen was there for a reason,” royal writer Robert Jobson told us: “To make sure that everything was witnessed.”

Charles’ insurance policy of having his wife at the meeting came after the Sussexes have spilled innumerable royal family secrets and allegations in their notorious 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, 2022 Netflix docu-series (“Harry & Meghan”) and Harry’s 2023 “Spare” memoir.

Jobson told us this week that no one apart from those present will ever know what really went down at Highgrove.

“The only people who know were inside the room,” he said.

The question is: Will Harry and Meghan tell the world?

The king’s decision for back-up follows the path set by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who refused to take Harry’s phone calls without another person present in the room — and who notoriously banned the Sussexes from bringing a photographer to one of their last meetings with her.

The couple had wanted to have one capture the first moments of the queen meeting Lilibet, her namesake and youngest great-great granddaughter, now 5.

Despite everything, Jobson explained, Charles, 77, agreed to the meeting with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren — including Prince Archie, 7 — so that he has “no regrets.”

“He’s living with cancer, he’s had a lot of meetings lately with people,” said Jobson, whose latest book, “The Windsor Legacy” is out now.

The reunion came at the end of a fraught week-long visit to the UK for Harry, 41, who lost his privacy case against Associated Newspapers and was refused a room at Buckingham Palace.

However, despite security concerns, the renegade royal, 41, still managed to get his wife and children over from their holiday home in Portugal to see Charles — and Camilla — for the first time in four years.

Harry has made no secret of his feelings for his stepmother. In “Spare,” he recalled how he and his brother, Prince William, pleaded with their father not to marry Camilla.

He further claimed she “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar” by trading information with tabloid journalists to smooth her path toward becoming Queen Consort.

Asked about the reunion, Page Six revealed that Harry was overheard telling guests at the Time 100 gala last week that his father — who has been battling an undisclosed cancer since 2024 — is “doing great.”

The spy also overheard the royal say his wife and children are “happy” to be home in California after their brief visit to the UK.

“The kids are growing like weeds,” Harry gushed to a guest.
