Kill Jackie, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, to debut on AMC+

AMC Global Media today announced the exclusive acquisition of the U.S. streaming rights to Kill Jackie, a gripping thriller centered on reinvention, survival, and the cost of escaping one’s past.

Starring and executive produced by Oscar, BAFTA and Tony Award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Wednesday) and co-produced by Steel Springs Pictures and Fremantle, the eight-episode series is slated to premiere this fall, exclusively on AMC+.

Based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by best-selling author Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen (Karla’s Choice, Tigerman), Kill Jackie follows Jackie Price (Zeta-Jones), who has spent the last twenty years living a quiet, luxurious existence selling fine art while remaining anonymous after escaping a criminal past.

Her carefully constructed world is shattered when she discovers that The Seven Demons, a squad of ruthless assassins, have been hired to kill her. Jackie will need to unleash her old instincts and execute a dangerous plan to take down the Demons.

Appearing alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones is Daniel Ings (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, The Gentlemen), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Prime Target, Borgen), Bill Paterson (Fleabag, House of the Dragon), Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy, Hellboy), Óscar Jaenada (Rambo V, Cantinflas), Hattie Hook (Of An Age, Ten Pound Poms), and Darci Shaw (A Thousand Blows, This City Is Ours).

The cast also includes Raff Law (Masters of the Air, Triton), Enzo Cilenti (Black Mirror, The Crown), Christine Adams (Hijack, Malice), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Britannia, Napoleon), Karlis Arnolds Avots (Soviet Jeans, Lovable), Set Sjöstrand (The Wheel of Time, Valhalla), and Tadashi Ito (Society of the Snow, The Platform 2).

Sebastian Armesto (Gangs of London, A Small Light), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh, The Great), Gavin Spokes (House of the Dragon, Slow Horses), Jonathan Cake (And Just Like That, Camping), and Bamshad Abedi-Amin (A Town Called Malice, The Last Kingdom) round out the cast.

Kill Jackie is co-created by Conor Keane (North Sea Connection), Tom Butterworth (Gangs of London), Peter Lawson (John Wick), and Damon Thomas (Killing Eve). The series executive producers are Lawson and Jose Agustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, Butterworth, Thomas, and Zeta-Jones, with Rebecca Dundon, Dante Di Loreto, and Jeffrey Levine.

Thomas serves as lead Director with writer/showrunner Butterworth. Keane co-wrote the TV adaptation and is associate producer. Nick Harkaway (son of John le Carré, writing under the pen name Aidan Truhen) serves as executive consultant. Steel Springs Pictures and Fremantle co-produced the series.

Steel Springs founder Peter Lawson and Lorenzo De Maio of De Maio Entertainment negotiated the deal and co-manage US sales; Fremantle handles sales in all other territories. José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak supervised production in Bizkaia, Spain. The book rights deal was handled by the Curtis Brown Media Rights Team on behalf of Patrick Walsh at PEW Literary.
