Former college teammates Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase are widely considered two of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
Last week, ESPN released its Top 10 wide receiver rankings for the 2026 NFL season — as voted on league executives, coaches and scouts.
Chase holds the top spot at No. 1, followed by Jefferson at No. 2.
“It makes me laugh, and also makes me a little bit angry,” Jefferson said during an interview with “This is Football” on ESPN. “That’s kind of been my whole entire career, that’s been my whole entire life. People not giving me the satisfaction or the credit I really should [get]. It is what it is.”
“That’s what makes me grind a little bit harder,” he added. “It’s all about proving to everybody, again.”
With shaky quarterback play in 2025, Jefferson didn’t live up to his elite standards. Through 17 game appearances with the Minnesota Vikings, he reeled in 84 catches for 1,048 yards and a career-low two touchdowns.
Following his Triple Crown-winning season in 2024, Chase secured 125 catches for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns with the Cincinnati Bengals this past season.
Jefferson and the Vikings will open up their 2026 NFL regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13.
