‘Jurassic Park’ Meets ‘The Twilight Zone’ in Anne Hathaway’s Dinosaur Blockbuster Next Month

Anne Hathaway will return to theaters with a sci-fi movie next month, likely making a double feature with the actress possible with The Odyssey.

2026 is a massive year for Anne Hathaway, as she lends her enormous talent to five (yes, five) movies. The year began with her titular turn in A24's Mother Mary, before she finally returned to one of her most famous roles alongside the likes of Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada 2. This past weekend, Hathaway's biggest movie of the decade finally set sail on global screens, as she joined the likes of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon, and more in The Odyssey.

A critical smash earning near-universal praise and being called an "unrivaled cinematic spectacle" in Joe Schmidt's official review for Collider, The Odyssey has also broken records on its box office debut, where it earned $264 million in just one weekend. Odysseus, king of Ithaca's perilous journey to return home from war, is the most exciting of Hathaway's 2026 movies, but her next is perhaps the most intriguing, certainly if you're a fan of either Jurassic Park or the cult horror hit It Follows.

The film in question is The End of Oak Street, formerly known as Flowervale Street, which stars Hathaway alongside Ewan McGregor in a sci-fi survival film featuring dinosaurs. The pair portray Denise and Greg Platt, whose perfect suburban life is turned upside down when their street is somehow transported into a primeval jungle. Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, ahead of his hotly anticipated It Follows sequel, They Follow, the movie is set for a theatrical release in less than a month on August 14.

What is Anne Hathaway's Last Movie of 2026?

Set for theatrical release on October 2, Hathaway will star in the latest in a long line of recent Colleen Hoover adaptations: Verity. A psychological thriller based on one of Hoover's best-loved and bestselling books, Hathaway is re-teaming with director Michael Showalter on the project after he previously helmed Prime Video’sThe Idea of You. The movie also features the likes of Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordóva, and Brady Wagner, and will be released by Amazon MGM Studios.

The End of Oak Street will be released in theaters on August 14. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
