JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run has raced ahead of the competition, officially taking the top spot in Japan's Spring 2026 anime satisfaction rankings. The latest results place Hirohiko Araki's newest anime adaptation ahead of returning favorites, including Dorohedoro Season 2 and Nippon Sankoku.
Japan's review platform, Filmarks, has now released its Spring 2026 Anime Satisfaction Rankings, which measure audience satisfaction based on user ratings for anime that premiered between March 1 and May 31, 2026. Compiled using review data collected through July 6, the rankings include only series that received at least 500 user reviews.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run topped the list with a 4.45-star average, beating second-place Dorohedoro Season 2's 4.33-star score by 0.12 points. The full top 10 list of the Spring 2026 Filmarks Anime Satisfaction Rankings can be seen below.

Steel Ball Run premiered on Netflix on March 19, adapting the seventh major story arc in Hirohiko Araki's long-running manga. Set in 1890 America, the series follows former racing prodigy Johnny Joestar, who enters the cross-continental Steel Ball Run horse race after witnessing the mysterious abilities of Gyro Zeppeli.
Hoping to uncover the secret behind Gyro's powers and regain the use of his legs, Johnny joins one of the most dangerous races ever held while competing against riders from around the world.
In a recent interview, director Yasuhiro Kimura revealed that the anime's production team intentionally stayed close to Araki's original manga during the opening portion of Steel Ball Run because of the story's dense pacing, though he confirmed that at least one upcoming episode will feature newly added material not found in the source.
However, the series has also faced heavy criticism over its release schedule after debuting with only a single episode in March, with additional episodes not scheduled to begin weekly releases until the Fall 2026 anime season.
Second place in the satisfaction survey went to Dorohedoro Season 2, which continues the dark fantasy story of amnesic, reptile-headed fighter Caiman as he searches for the sorcerer who transformed him.
Nippon Sankoku followed closely behind in third after making its anime debut this spring. Based on Yamada Kanehito's manga, the latter series is set in a fractured future Japan divided into three rival nations and follows a strategist whose ambitions threaten to reshape the balance of power nationwide.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is streaming now on Netflix. Previous episodes of the anime, including the Golden Wind arc, are also available to stream for free on Tubi.
