Joby Aviation (JOBY) shares rose nearly 7% in premarket trading on Wednesday after the electric air taxi developer finalized its partnership with Virgin Atlantic, converting an agreement announced in 2025 into a binding, multi-year commercial deal.

The agreement establishes Virgin Atlantic as Joby's exclusive airline partner for air taxi services in the UK. Travelers will be able to book Joby's air taxi flights through Virgin Atlantic's website and mobile app alongside long-haul flights.

Joby plans to launch services from Virgin Atlantic's hubs in London and Manchester, with initial routes expected to include Manchester Airport to Leeds in about 15 minutes and Heathrow to Central London in as little as eight minutes.

Under the partnership, Joby will oversee aircraft operations, route planning, and regulatory approvals from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, while Virgin Atlantic will support infrastructure integration and customer acquisition at both hubs.

Over time, Joby expects to expand this network to a wide range of cities and communities across the UK.

The collaboration builds on Joby's existing partnership with Delta Air Lines (DAL), which holds a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic.
