The Green Bay Packers appear to have the makeup of a legitimate Super Bowl contender heading into the 2026 season, with difference-makers on both sides of the ball and impressive depth throughout the roster.

However, despite the optimism surrounding the team, Packers insider Zach Kruse of Packers Wire believes one unresolved issue could still prevent Green Bay from reaching its full potential.

Kruse believes the biggest obstacle facing the Packers is not a lack of talent or depth, but rather their ability to stay healthy throughout the season.

“Maybe my biggest concern about the 2026 Packers: The foundation is made up of too many “This guy is really good if he can stay healthy!” players,” Kruse wrote on his post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Green Bay Packers set for a huge season

The Packers have no shortage of star power, but keeping that talent available could be the biggest challenge. Several of Green Bay’s most important players have battled injuries throughout their careers, including Micah Parsons, who is returning from a torn ACL and meniscus injury. On offense, key contributors such as Christian Watson, Tucker Kraft, Jayden Reed, and even Josh Jacobs have each dealt with health concerns at different points in their NFL careers.

The injury concerns extend beyond the skill positions as well. Green Bay has also seen important pieces in the trenches deal with setbacks, including Zach Tom, Devonte Wyatt following a broken leg, and veteran defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.

Their ability to keep those key contributors healthy over the course of a demanding 17-game schedule could play a major role in determining the team’s ceiling.

The Green Bay Packers’ biggest advantage is the amount of talent they can put on the field when everyone is available. Green Bay has built a roster with difference-makers at nearly every position, highlighted by a defense that has the potential to become one of the league’s most disruptive units with Micah Parsons leading the charge.

Offensively, the combination of versatile playmakers and a dependable rushing attack gives Jordan Love and the Packers plenty of ways to challenge opposing defenses.
