Police told g1 that its initial investigation suggests that Marcelli and Carvalho were held captive before they were killed, and authorities are continuing to investigate whether their deaths were connected to alleged drug trafficking or the sale of narcotics in the region.

Marcelli maintained a following of over 20,000 on Instagram, where she was known for showing off her goth aesthetic and extravagant outfits. She also made a name for herself on stage, performing elaborate choreographed routines with fire. g1 reports that she was from Porto Seguro and is survived by a 13-year-old son.

“We are still struggling to find the right words for a moment like this. It is hard to believe that someone who was about to share such a special moment with us has left us so soon,” wrote the Rock Gaya Festival in its tribute. “Rest in peace, Ulissias.”

In the comments of a pinned post on her Instagram account, fans shared tributes to the late star.
