CHARLESTON — The Holy City can add another accolade to its list, having recently watched Miss Charleston be crowned the 89th Miss South Carolina.
Lindsay Jones claimed her new title June 20 and received a $60,000 scholarship from the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization. Next up on her pageant card is the Miss America competition in August.
“When they called my name, ... I couldn’t believe it,” Jones, 26, said of the state pageant held last month at Township Auditorium in Columbia. “I still can’t believe it. It still does not feel real.”
Originally from Maryland, Jones said she moved to Atlanta in 2023. Soon after, she won the title of Miss Greater Atlanta and finished as fourth place runner-up in the 2025 Miss Georgia pageant.
Recently, Jones moved to Charleston. On Feb. 8, Jones announced her title of Miss Charleston on Instagram.
Since then, she has represented the city through partnerships and events as Miss Charleston. She works with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a nationwide mentorship program, with both the Lowcountry and Upstate chapters.
In her professional life, Jones is a national sales manager at Stanley Black & Decker. She manages a $200 million territory covering 150 Home Depot, Lowes and Tractor Supply accounts. She’s also a content creator promoting her #shemeansbusiness program focusing on empowering women to chase their goals. She is business owner of Cupcakes for Kindness.
Her platform “The Moment of Mentorship” focuses on giving women a mentor to help chase their dreams.
“I had a mentor in college, and she truly changed my life. She was like, ‘You’re going to go work sales for Stanley Black & Decker’ and I was like, ‘No, I’m not. ... Why would I go sell power tools?’, ” Jones said. “She really pushed me.”
Jones has also hosted Pilates events with proceeds going to the American Heart Association. She raised over $15,000 through her Cupcakes for Kindness initiative and has made appearances throughout the community.
Now through her work with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America, her goal is to be a mentor to others and push women to pursue their passion.
“My biggest goal as Miss South Carolina is to just inspire other women to not care what kind of field they’re going into,” she said. “Inspire women to chase their dreams and just go down any path that they think is possible.”
With the titles of Miss Charleston and Miss South Carolina under her belt, Jones will travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., to compete from Aug. 28-Sept. 6 in the 99th Miss America pageant.
As she prepares, she’ll continue her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, travel to different colleges to work within sororities and much more. When her time as Miss South Carolina comes to an end, she hopes to help ramp up the pageant programs for other young women to make a difference in their communities.
The Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization was founded in 1936. Its goal is to advance “the creation, promotion and support of community service and educational opportunities for young women” across the state.
