Attention overpackers, you need this for your next trip.
What You Need to Know
- A travel writer swapped multiple toiletry bags for the REI Co-op Shower Roll, which can fit a month’s worth of essentials.
- Unlike other options, it features three spacious compartments and a hidden mirror—so you can pack all of your essentials.
- Right now, you can grab it in rustic gold or deep marine for $40 at REI.
Whether I’m traveling for two, seven, or 14 days, I can’t resist packing everything from my bathroom cabinet. Because I never know when I’ll need extra deodorant or sunscreen.
That said, one toiletry bag is usually not enough. So, when one of my favorite retailers sent me one of its best sellers, I assumed it would just be another pouch to pack alongside my other travel staples. But the REI Co-op Shower Roll surprised me by fitting all of my essentials—including full-size skincare products and toothpaste. If, like me, you can’t travel without your favorite face wash, lotion, concealer, and more, it’s definitely worth grabbing before your next trip.
REI Co-op Shower Roll
I’ll be honest—at first glance, I thought it would only be good for bobby pins, hair scrunchies, and a few travel-sized products. It looks compact and flat on the outside, but when I opened it to find three surprisingly roomy zippered sections for packing and organizing my must-haves, I was immediately impressed.
Along with a durable recycled nylon shell that withstands wear and tear, it features a recycled polyester lining that’s easy to clean. The top pocket is made with breathable mesh, so my larger haircare products fit comfortably; the middle pocket is solid—perfect for items I want to keep private while traveling, like vitamins and a toothbrush; and the bottom pocket—one of my favorites—has a vinyl front so I can see what’s inside. Even better, it can be unzipped to turn the pouch into two separate toiletry bags.
I recently used it on a weekend trip to North Carolina, where I needed to pack more makeup than usual, along with all of my other essentials. It fit everything—so there was no need for a second toiletry bag—and was easy to hang on the door, making it feel like a portable bathroom cabinet. It even has a hidden mirror, so I could get ready in the car before arriving at my cousin’s wedding reception.
If you’re headed on a longer vacation, one shopper confirmed they could fit a month’s worth of items in the REI Co-op Shower Roll, while another said it has “plenty of space for the travel necessities of two people,” saving even more space. It’s currently available in deep marine and rustic gold, which I’m a huge fan of.
