How many sacks will Seahawks DE DeMarcus Lawrence have in 2026?

The Seattle Seahawks rushed the passer effectively by committee last season. Mike Macdonald's defense finished tied for seventh in the NFL during the regular season in sacks with 47 QB takedowns. They racked up nine more sacks during the playoffs en route to winning Super Bowl 60, including six of Drake Maye in the final game.

The Seahawks did not have a single 10-sack player during the regular-season campaign. Uchenna Nwosu, Byron Murphy, and Leonard Williams tied for the team lead with seven sacks apiece. Veteran defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was a close second with six sacks of his own.

The experienced Lawrence will be asked to play a similar role in 2026. The Seahawks lost EDGE Boye Mafe to free agency. General manager John Schneider replaced Mafe by signing Dante Fowler, ensuring the Seahawks still have a stable of rotational pass rushers ready to go for Macdonald.

There's every reason to believe Lawrence could produce another 6+ sacks for the Seahawks defense in 2026. The aging defensive end has shown no signs of slowing down, playing the most snaps of any Seahawks defense end last season (626, 55.79%). Macdonald trusts Lawrence and he might lean on him even more in 2026.
