Here's everything Samsung announced at today's Galaxy Unpacked event

Today, Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event in London, where it announced a slew of new products that are going to be available in just a couple of weeks. So let’s talk about everything Samsung just announced, in case you missed the 1-hour-long keynote.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8

Starting off with the Galaxy Z Flip 8, this is the 8th generation of the Galaxy Z Flip series, and it’s got some pretty nice upgrades this year. It’s a bit thinner (though Samsung is comparing it to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 instead of the Flip 7), it’s now the thinnest flip Samsung has ever made at 6.1mm. It’s also running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the US and Exynos 2600 outside the US, similar to the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus.

Like the rest of the Galaxy Z8 family, the Flip 8 is also getting the new Flex Titanium Alloy display, which makes the crease a lot less pronounced. It’s still there, but it’s much harder to see.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is going to be available for pre-order today starting at $1,199. That’s $100 more than the previous model.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8

The wide Galaxy Z Fold 8 is here, and it’s a beaut. It has a 5.5-inch cover display with a 7.6-inch main display. However, that cover display is in a 16:10 aspect ratio while the main display is 4:3, giving you more space to get work done and consume content. Samsung is really pitching this as a content consumption device, and it makes sense since it is a better resolution for content.

Internally, it does have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, along with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The new Galaxy Z Fold 8 is up for pre-order today and will cost you $1,899. Surprisingly, it’s cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was last year.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra

Then there’s the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. On the surface, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of changes here, but there are. Firstly, a bigger battery. Samsung has equipped this phone with a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Though it is technically still classified as lithium-ion because the silicon content is very low. But this is the first silicon-carbon battery, and it’s in all three foldables this year.

Next, the display. It’s using the Flex Titanium Alloy display that Samsung announced ahead of Unpacked, but it also gets the anti-reflective layer, like the other two foldables. This really makes a big difference, along with the increased peak brightness of 3,000nits.

Somehow, Samsung made the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Not by much, as it is now 4.1mm unfolded instead of 4.2mm. But that can still make a difference.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is available for pre-order starting today at $2,099. Like with the Galaxy Z Flip 8, it also got a $100 price bump.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2

The new watches get brighter displays, bigger batteries, and a new chipset. They are both running on the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip that was announced back at MWC – Samsung confirmed then that the next Galaxy Watch would be using this chip, so it’s not a big surprise.

Along with that new chipset are bigger batteries. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 got a massive battery upgrade to 800mAh, about 35% larger. While the Galaxy Watch 9 is a bit more of a modest upgrade at 390mAh for the 40mm and 445mAh for the 44mm size.

And finally, both of these get brighter displays: 3,000 nits of peak brightness on the Galaxy Watch 9 and 5,000 nits on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Both of these watches are available for pre-order now and did get a price increase. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 9 now starts at $379, with the 44mm starting at $409, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will be $699. Between $30 and $50 price increases for the watches here.

Samsung’s One More Thing

Samsung also gave us a better look at its upcoming smart glasses at Unpacked today. While they aren’t sharing a release date (other than this Fall), nor a price, we did get a chance to get our hands on them. These are insanely light glasses, actually, far lighter than the Meta RayBan, but Samsung is not mentioning weight yet.

As you probably already know, Samsung is working with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, and there are two designs for each brand being shown off at Unpacked.

These are the audio glasses, as the display glasses are slated for next year. As you’d expect, they do have Gemini built-in, though Samsung is keeping Bixby on these glasses as well.

The Samsung Intelligent Eyewear is set to debut this Fall.
