We have the Hailey Jean, thanks to Gap. Now, all we need is a Hailey-made heeled flip-flop to complete the model’s effortlessly cool wardrobe. The Rhode founder has made the slinky sandal a staple in her It-Girl wardrobe, often wearing it with casual baggy jeans. But last night, she traded her go-to denim and styled a pair of The Row’s Sacha Leather Sandals (an older style that’s now sold-out) with a vintage John Galliano Dior-era slip dress, which is further proof that the casual sandal can be dressed up, too.
The fun, party-ready slip was perfect for the SKYLRK after party in New York, which she attended with her husband, Justin Bieber, after his iconic World Cup halftime performance. Since the sandals were so simple and streamlined, it allowed the dress’s romantic details, like its lace-trim and floral details, to shine. (She also wore a very similar Dior slip dress to Coachella earlier this year.)
With the massive resurgence of flip-flops, it only makes sense that the dressier, more sophisticated heeled version grows in popularity. The heeled flip-flop keeps the comfortability and casualness of the open-toed sandal, but the heel adds a sophisticated touch. Plus, you can grab them in any height, from sky high stilettos to kitten heels. And, even though the flip-flop strap is slim, I don’t ever find wearing them for long hours to be uncomfortable (and I’d wager Mrs. Bieber feels the same way).
