SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A habitual theft suspect has been arrested by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD).
Police say an off-duty officer working at the Walmart on E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop reportedly observed Ashley Coker stealing merchandise. She was taken into custody, and investigators found that she had multiple previous theft-related arrests involving the SPD, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bossier City Police Department, and Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The SPD says because this was her seventh theft-related arrest, Coker now faces one count of felony theft. She was transported to the Shreveport City Jail.
“Another alleged habitual thief is off the streets—and out of the checkout line,” the SPD stated.
